Psychoanalyst London

Portland practice are a team of psychoanalysts in London's Harley Street who provide a unique approach to counselling. After an initial consultation session to determine your particular needs, we will identify the most appropriate therapy. We then assign the best psychoanalyst qualified in your particular area of concern, and offer you a bespoke service, flexible to your schedule and requirements.
Whilst we are able to offer long term and continual support, we also specialise in intensive 12-week programs in order to combat direct and urgent concerns.

The predominant structure for psychotherapy is individual, 50-minute sessions with specialist consultants.
We advise after the initial consultation an assessment of three 50-minute sessions to determine your therapeutic pathway.
We also provide experienced group leaders for personal development groups, self help groups, life coaching groups and reflective behavioural groups. Our practitioners in this field have lengthy experience in group facilitation and development.

Psychoanalyst London

Senior Psychotherapist: Michelle Dykstra Inst. GA., UKCP. Michelle has been involved in mental health work for over 25 years. She has worked in the NHS and with various charities, specialising in depression, anger, anxiety, addiction, relationship problems and bereavement. Michelle developed a new model of therapy for treatment of psychotics within the NHS. Her approach is psychoanalytic, with an emphasis on the meaningful relationship between the patient and the analyst, who curiously engage with the painful problem, symptom, or difficult behaviour. Both client and therapist work together to make valuable improvements to the client’s emotional world, within a stable, consistent setting.
